Game Rupturing Quests

I have just had this idea, so bare with me as I flesh it out over a few days and obviously with a few posts from you guys

 

Basically I don't know if this kind of thing will be in elemental initially, but what about really long big quests, that don't just end with a big reward, but end with the world changing.

 

So here's a few things I'd like to include in these quests:

  • Long drawn out quests
  • Involving more than one faction
  • Big empire vs. kingdom fights
  • Massively powerful items to fight for:
    • One ring type item
    • Magic Sword
    • Sorceror Tower
    • Extremely powerful wanderer to control
  • Massive world changing events:
    • Lava filled cracks across the map
    • Continents sinking
    • Massive mountain ranges rising
    • Magical explosions
    • Deadly Plague
  • Special characters spawning in random factions
    • Specific quests for those characters
    • Directed towards awesome events
    • Can also be gained from completing quests
  • Special Quest specific spells
  • Custom Artwork (hopefull)

Can't think of much else atm, but I think it would make the game have randomly generated lord of the rings style quests, spanning for many turns, maybe even the whole game. These aren't game ending quests either, you could have several in one game, making up an even more indepth history.

If this is already in the game, then I just plan on expanding it. And if anyone else is planning something like this, then I'll join in either way, help would be apprectiated.
